At the center of DVWFA activities are our outings. We get together for at least two fishing excursions in each of the fishable months. The trips range from day trips to local streams to fully guided overnight adventures. We pursue cold water, warm water, and saltwater species. We also hold various social and educational programs throughout the year, including a spring casting clinic, summer picnic, winter holiday party, and fly tying get-togethers. Our club is kept informed by a 12 page quarterly newsletter. The newsletter is also a forum to share ideas and experiences. Membership is $25 per year.

We named our group as Welsh Ladies Angling Division because WLAD in Welsh language means Country. At the beginning, some anglers thought that there was no need to have ladies group. But now we are doing well and have some 25 members. Among us, 12 anglers are in the Welsh Ladies Fly Fishing Team. We recently acquired grants to purchase equipment, etc. as our aim is to involve more women young and old in fishing.
